Serve it as a side at a banquet, in a crock-pot for tonight’s dinner, or as an afternoon-after-nap snack for your little loved ones.

- 3 lbs McIntosh, Northern Spy, or Winesap Firm Apples
- 1 lb Braeburn or Honey crisp Soft Apples
- 1/2 C Water (add more when and only if needed)
- 2-4 T Agave Low glycemic sweetener
- 1/2 t Cinnamon
- 1/4 t Nutmeg
- 3/4 C Chopped Walnuts Optional
- 1/2 C Golden Raisins Optional
Instructions
Put peeled, cored and quartered apples in water in a pot.
Heat over medium heat until boiling.
Add optional golden raisins at this point.
Reduce to a simmer.
Stir occasionally for about 5-10 minutes adding water only if needed.
Apples should be tender.
Do not allow applesauce to burn.
Add Agave and spices.
Stir thoroughly.
Remove from heat.
Serve plain, under a dollop of Cinnamon Apple Almond Yogurt or with Whole Grain Banana Apple Muffins I Love!
